77th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2023

Most of us, at some point, are guilty of confusing Independence Day with Republic Day, our minds often wandering to the sweets being distributed or all the movies screening on Sun TV

Mr. Sunil Kurian, our esteemed chief guest spoke of our shared responsibility, we owe it to our countless freedom fighters who defied the shackles of injustice to give us the air of freedom we breathe today. He spoke about the importance of Independence Day and that when we march forward, we’re not merely celebrating a day, we’re honouring our freedom fighters and the freedom they dreamt of, it is a constant battle against injustice.

Today as the sun kisses the sky with hues of saffron, as the flag flutters and the anthems resonate, we must pause to ponder, are we truly free or are we captives of different chains? Most of the population remains with meagre choices, grappling with the harsh realities of the world. Let us take this moment to unite in purpose and continue the fight.
