PYP Teaching Team

Ms. Sindhuja Balaguru

PYP Coordinator

During my childhood, I have always wondered if rote learning is the only way of education. That lingering thought made me become an inquiry teacher in PYP from being a counselling psychologist and a special educator for students.

Pursuing my Bachelors and Masters in Psychology has helped me understand the thoughts, feelings and behaviour of children. Being experienced as a special educator, I have always looked at learning as individualistic and holistic.

My passion towards student-centered education and inquiry-based learning and teaching resulted in becoming the PYP Coordinator in a span of one year. Leading the PYP authorization process at Ela Green School was an immensely enriching experience. Practicing and developing new strategies for bringing inquiry in class and agency in students will be my lifelong inquiry.
