Frequently Asked Questions

BIS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) — covering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Early Years to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 6–10, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11–12 — alongside a CBSE programme for students seeking the Indian curriculum pathway. Both curricula are delivered with the same standard of excellence and commitment to holistic development.

The IB is a globally recognized educational framework that teaches students HOW to think, not just WHAT to think. Unlike traditional curricula built around memorization, the IB is conceptual, inquiry-based, and consistent across IB schools worldwide. It is designed to prepare students for higher education success while developing the critical thinking, communication, and research skills that universities and employers actually value.

In inquiry-based learning, students are taught how to find answers rather than receive them. BIS classrooms encourage asking questions, group discussion, reasoning, exploring multiple perspectives, and connecting learning to real life. Students explore real examples and real problems through interdisciplinary projects, multiple resources, and learning stations — not just textbooks. This builds the habits of genuine thinkers and independent learners.

BIS MYP students consistently score above the world average. In May 2025, BIS students achieved 42/56 against the world average of 39/56 — a result that reflects strong subject understanding, research capability, and independent thinking. These scores are achieved not through coaching or drilling, but through genuine deep learning and the development of real skills over time.

The IB Diploma is a rigorous, university-level programme where students study 6 subjects at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL), write a 4,000-word Extended Essay as an independent research paper, complete the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) philosophical course, and undertake Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) projects. BIS DP students achieve SAT scores of 1260+ out of 1600 and gain admission to top universities in India and worldwide.
