Mr. Ezhumalai, our Route 1 driver has been a part of the Ela Green community for four years and continues to work here. He is an avid reader and keeps up with everyday current affairs by reading newspapers and magazines so feel free to indulge in long conversations with him about the state and national issues. He covers the Chengalpattu – Mahendra City – SP Koil- Govindapuram route.
Mr. Venkateshan is the in-charge for Route 2, and he covers Urappakam – Guduvancheri Vallancheri- SRM kattangalathur route. Venkatesh has been working here for 3 years and is thrilled to be part of Ela Green which promotes a sustainable future and tries to practice sustainable lifestyle changes at home as well. Venkatesh avoids plastic as much as he can by using earthen pots and instills these values in his children too.
Mr. Balu, our Route 3 driver has been working with us for four years and is known for his zeal and diligence. He used to work as a tourist driver and knows every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu. He considers himself a wanderlust as he loves exploring places and cultural heritage. At Ela Green, he covers the Hiranandhini Orgadam – Maraimalai Nagar route.
Mr. Marimuthu, our security guard looks after our vast serene campus from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. As you enter our campus, you can catch a glimpse of Marimuthu’s wide smile and his humble salutations. He loves spending time with dogs and all kinds of animals that visit our green campus.
Mr. Arumugam, the reason behind our beautiful and tranquil campus, is a very humble and composed person akin to the plants he interacts with. Our gardener has been working with us for two years. He loves farming and shares a very personal bond with agriculture. Arumugam is fond of kathiri chedi and melaga chedi as the produce for these crops lasts for four months, much longer than the rest. His interests are vast but predominantly in soil and its properties. He works at the school from 8 in the morning to 4:30 PM.
Ms. Shamala, the school janitor has been working with us since 2018 and is a very proud member of the Ela Green family. Shamala is often praised and commended for her bravery among her co-workers. she is our first responder to any and all crises on campus. Every morning, she looks forward to coming to school as she gets to spend time taking care of the kids and keeping our school hygienic and safe for children.
Shamala works from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM every day excluding Sundays.
Ms. R. Poongodi, our janitor is one of our pillars of support. She is very determined and organised and has been with the Ela community since 2018. One of Poongodi’s admirable skills is her effortlessness to communicate with everyone without any hesitancy. According to Poongodi, her main motivation to work here is the work culture that constantly supports her and provides her with a safe space to grow. Ms. Poongodi works at the school from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Ms. Chitra V, one of our janitors, lights up the room with her vivacious presence. She has started working here recently and has been enjoying her work so far. Ms. Chitra is a dancer and in her free time, she loves watching dance and choreography videos to develop her skills. Her loving temperament and good work ethic can be seen in the form of her actions and contributions to the school. She works from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Ms. Shanti is our bus caretaker for route no.1 and is also one of our janitors. She has formed a very close rapport with the children, and they always tend to listen to her. Shanti believes in reinforcement and calming children with love and never intends to punish them and rather adores their goofiness and their curiosity. She is also known for her delicious Karakozhumbu so if you ever bump into her, do ask for her secret recipe. She works from 8:30 AM- 3:00 PM on weekdays.
