I am filled with immense pride and enthusiasm to welcome each of you to our vibrant learning community as we commence a new academic year at ELA Green School. Our vision, “ELA Green School provides a value-based education that instils real-world skills and social and environmental responsibilities in the younger generation, thereby empowering them to become lifelong learners,” remains the foundation of our operations.
We remain steadfast in our dedication to comprehensive development. Our objective is to nurture learners who are resilient and will have a positive impact on the local and global communities, alongside contributing to our school. We empower our students to transfer these fundamental principles from the classroom to their daily lives by developing a culture of inclusivity and sustainability. We are committed to the establishment of a world that is both empathetic and serene.
I would like to recount a narrative that was motivated by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, a distinguished Indian philosopher and spiritual leader. Swami Vivekananda frequently presented the parable of the lion and the livestock. A flock of sheep fostered a lion cub that had been separated from his mother. Throughout his childhood, he was convinced that he was a sheep, characterized by timidity and fear. One day, an adult lion discovered the cub and brought it to a lake. The cub realized its true nature as it observed its reflection in the water. “You are not a sheep,” the elder lion declared. “You are a lion, just like me.”
This story emphasizes the potential within each individual to achieve greatness, a belief that Swami Vivekananda strongly held. He believed in the power of self-realization, education, and service to humanity. He emphasized the importance of character-building and the development of a compassionate and inclusive mindset.
